Euritmica-Torino 2008, the logo is designed by Pininfarina
From the agreement between Pininfarina Extra and the committee which organizes the XXIVth European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, rises an emblem that has been inspired from music and the elegance of the athletes.
The graphic ofthe Euritmica logo is designed by Pininfarina. It has been officially presented together with the program of the sport event.
According to the partnership agreement with the committee which organizes the XXIVth European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, which will take place at the Olympic Palasport of Turin from the 5thto 7th June 2008, Pininfarina is responsible for the stylistic aspect of the new logo and it has dealt with the graphic planning of the communication material, beginning from the writing paper to visiting cards and posters.
In order to design the Euritmica logo, the Pininfarina Extra’s stylists started their work from the elements exalted by this fascinating sport: human body’s flexibility, coordination, the rhythmic sense able to stir the imagination. This is a sport that allows the athlete the experimentation of an infinite range of movements and the creation of new ones, with choreographies which express harmony, class, dynamics.
So, the stylistic concept which is at the basis of the logo design has been inspired from the two protagonists of Rhythmic Gymnastics: the music and the woman. In fact the symbol is the result of the fusion between a treble and a woman standing straight, elegant and graceful: the spiral traced in the air by the satin ribbon imaginary envelopes the winding silhouette of a gymnast, as in the stave, where the little ringlet inside the treble interwinds the G line.
The Euritmica projecthas been developed by Pininfarina Extra, a society which is part of the Pininfarina Groupand which is specialized in product and interior design. Comment
The logo of the XXIV European Championship of Rhythmic Gymnastics in Turin is one of the few, in the history of the Worldand European Championships, that recalls music.
In fact, music is one of the protagonists of this sport, along with the gymnasts and the small apparatus.
Perhaps the first combination between movement and music was on a badge of the 1969 Varna World Championship, a figurine less stylized than the present one, that draws with a ribbon the curves of the treble (G key), called also violin key.

Later, in 1983 in occasion of the fist World Cup in Belgrade appears the representation of a figure that seems a musical sign, perhaps a quaver or a crotchet, with the small bar that a gymnast in movement use to prop on. |
