Turin’s Olympic Palasport
Competition venue
The Olympic Palasport, with its huge and beautiful spaces, represents one of the biggest and morefascinating arena at international level. It can host every kind of show, from sport to music, from theatre to convention, to gala nights. It holds 13.000 seats (105 for disabled people) and is extended for more than 18.000 square metres.
Description
Located in the south of Turin, near the Olympic Stadium, it is one of the new location created for the XX Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006. Designed by the architect Arata Isozaki of Tokyo, with a great attention to the post-Olympic use, it has hosted the Torino 2006 Ice hockey competitions. It is made of a big inox steel mass of 183x100 metres suspended on a 5 metres high base glazed towards the park. Now it can host various events: ice sports, indoor sports, concerts, shows, conventions, congresses, gala dinners.

Carriage access stalls of 30x60 metres, a 4.000 square metres hall events, 16 artists dressing-rooms,
press room, 13 vip suites each of 16 seats, 1 conference room of 190 seats, 14 snack points, inside reserved entry park car of 40 places.

Training venue
This sports facility, finished for the XX Olympic Winter Games Torino 2006, has two regular ice rinks; the first, which has 2700 seats, for ice hockey and figure skating matches and the second, 300 seats, for short track and curling. Ice rink n.1: 4 sectors and 4 galleries tribunes; ice rink n.2: 2 sectors tribunes. The structure, completely without architectonic barriers, has many changing-rooms for people with a disability and for referees, and also a gymnasium for the athletes warm-up.
There are big rooms used for meetings/conferences, catering rooms.
